Mardi Gras Time!

We are busy getting ready for Mardi Gras in Pre K 3! We have practiced making patterns on paper King Cakes, made masks to decorate our classroom and we will make hats and decorate shirts to wear to the Trinity Mardi Gras Parade on Friday. During the Parade the 4 year olds will throw beads from floats made out of wagons. The 3 year olds make festive costumes to wear to the parade and catch beads from the 4 year olds. It is a great Mardi Gras Tradition here at Trinity. We are looking forward to all of the Mardi Gras activities here at Trinity this week!

Lets Talk About Teeth

Dr, Jonnie Hunt Bond, Mother of Ryder in Mrs. Kobetz's class came to Trinity today to talk about caring for our teeth. She brought some puzzles and her toy pony for us to play with. We enjoyed learning about teeth.

Blue Dogs at Trinity!

We had such a fun time making all of our Blue Dog Art last week and this week.We had a wonderful visit today with Louisiana Artist George Rodrigue. He came to our classroom to show us how he draws his Blue Dog pictures and use his new "You can count on Blue Dog" IPAD app with us. It was a wonderful way to combine art and technology. Over the week we made different types of art inspired by his Artwork and we even had a Blue Dog Cafe' in our dress up center. Enjoy these photos from todays events. Polar Bear Paws!

Last Friday we ended our North & South Pole Unit with a Science Experiment. We talked about how many animals that live in the cold have blubber under their skin that keeps them warm. To explain this concept to the children we had the children put one hand in the tub of ice with their hand a bag of crisco where their hand was protected by Blubber Then they put their other hand in the ice without being protected by Blubber. The children quickly discovered that the Blubber kept their hand warm. It was a fun way to teach the children about Blubber!

We have been practicing counting with the George Rodrigue Foundation of the Art's new Ipad app, You  Can Count on Blue Dog! It is a free App. We are very excited that our class has been featured on the GRFA newsletter and look forward to incorporating the App and Mr. Rodrigues art into our lessons at school. Learn more about the "You Can Count on Blue Dog" App here!
