Bouncing balls & sno-balls

This week we had lots of fun continuing our study of balls! Everyone has enjoyed the football dress up center. Each day we have a question of the day. We made a tally mark graph based on our answers. We tested out different balls from our class collection to see how they rolled & bounced on grass, concrete, rocks, and the slide. We also had fun rolling balls through a tunnel & completed the week by making paper mâché sno-balls! 

Having a ball!

We are having a ball with our ball study! The students have loved bringing in balls for show and tell. We have also done bouncing experiments, and made artwork using balls. We have incorporated math skills by talking about the difference between spheres and circles & by counting the number of times a ball bounces. They have also spotted food that looks like balls. It will be fun to continue further study balls next week!

Name Games

We have been having so much fun learning the names of our friends at school and getting to know one another. We played pat-a-cake with the first letters of our names and then made cup cakes. This also goes well with our new bakery center this week. We also used letter stamps to make first letter of our name art and traced letters in shaving cream! What fun!
They have also enjoyed showing their family flags to the class. The children are making friends and becoming more comfortable at school each day!

New Year New Friends!

We are having so much fun learning our routines at school! We are getting to know our friends and having so much fun exploring our classroom. The second week of school is going smoothly.
Today we learned that we can form letters out of lines and curves. We practiced writing letters in our name in shaving cream. It was lots of fun!
We could then continue to use our lines and curves in the block center.

Outside Centers & Splash Day!

We had so much fun ending the school year this week!

 On Tuesday we celebrated with outside centers and a Smart Convention Science Experiment. 

Wednesday started off rainy but a break in the weather gave us some time to Splash! 

Both events were great ways to end a fabulous school year!

We hunted for trees, sorted tree pictures, and brought in our own tree things for show and tell!
